The Panama Pacific Exposition is breaking all records in the matter of 'attendance. In the first thirty days the crowds entering the turnstiles totalled a few thousand in excess of 2,000,000. This is a greater number than was registered at either the Chicago World’s Fair or the St. Louis Exposition.in tho same time. In view of the fact that Chicago and St. Louis are both larger cities than San Francisco, and also have larger adjacent populations to draw upon, this showing is remarkable. It is accounted for by the far nearer approach of "the San Francisco Exposition to a condition of readiness and by tho fact that pleasure travel to Europe this year is practically cut off, and is being largely diverted to San Francisco.
