The opinion is growing at Rome that Italy will not attack Austria, but will send a squadron to reinforce the AngloFrench in the bombardment of the Dardanelles, in' the expectation that Austria, and Germany will declare war. Italy will limit her activities to the defence of the frontier, where already 800,000 men are concentrated. NEGOTIATIONS WITH AUSTRIA. REACH THE BREAKING POINT. (Received May 1, 10.15 a.m.) ROME, April 30. The Government has requisitioned all petrol. The Stnmpa, a leading neutral organ, admits that the Austro-Italian pourparlers have reached the breaking point and that only radical alterations in the Austrian point of- view cau ameliorate the situation.
