The Chairman explained that the mooting had been i ailed a* Mr. Okey’s r«*«|Uo*,i in order to confer on school mailers. Me asked lor an expression ot opinion as to whether the proceedings should l)o upon to ill** press, it was (jiule possible, lie added, that a eoinmnnicauun would soon bv- received irom the Minister, with whom Mr. Okey had had a lone interview on matters concerning the hoard. Mr. Ukev stated that so far as lie was concerned. there would he nothing he wmifd s.iy which he desired should he suppressed. Mr. M (lardy thought that until the eoimnumeation was received from the Minister nothing should bo published. Tim i bairtnau agreed. Mr. Huteheu said that as tluro had been a good d*u! of inoiiirv lately by the public in eonnection with various school matteis, he considered they were entitled in know what was happening. especially as Mr. Okev had said be had no objection to the publication of what he had to say, Mr, Ewing took a similar view, but suggested that the inciting should be held in committee, and if advisable, a report he handed afterwards to the pro>s. Mr. Webster concurred, and this course was adopted, the press representatives then withdrawing. The board sj,t for about an hour, and "cporied that there was no information to be made public.
