CHI! VS ANTHEM UAI SHOW. Tho display of these beautiful flowers to be seen at the Good Templar Hall to-day is a particularly line one. the blonms. generally speaking, being of exceptional quality. There arc no competitive classes, all the blooms being placed on exhibition by enthusiastic livr.l horticulturists, Air. S. W. Shaw, .Mr. H. Corncy. Air. G. N. Heighten, Airs. Scanlon. Airs. Colvilc, Airs. K. Grifluhs. Air, Aldridge and Aiiss Pollard exhibit chrysanthemums, their displays including many new varieties shown here for tho first timet .Mrs, H. Weston exhibits a. bowl of beautiful violets, also a collection of chrysanthemums and double cosmos; Aiiss Avery, a basket of chrysanthemums; Airs. Wl L. Newman, a choice geranium; and Air. A, Newell a lovely lot of chrysanthemums and single and double cosmos. Air. J. Gibson, tho president of the socidty. makes a nice display of roses, chrysanthemums, dahlias, single and double cosmos, etc., all of which are most tastefully arranged; and Air. G. H. M'Gahey exhibits a large collection of choice pot plants. Messrs. Hnncan and Darios make a comprehensive display, which embraces over one hundred varieties of chrysanthemums, including many now ones. Tho whole of the blooms are of exceptional quality, and among the different varieties might he mentioned Glitter, Keith Luxford. Airs. AA'. Duckhain, Dandv, Hell Wells, W .AVood Alasnn, E. J. Taggart, Beatrice Alay and Jubilee. Their exhibit also includes a spray of a new evergreen creeper, bignouiu cheroi, and among a fine collection of plants the Now Zealand native rod birch (fagus fusca), red leaved oaks, maples, etc., stand out prominently.

Tliti Morshead Nursery Company, too, has a- lovely display of blooms, includinj! an extensive collection of chrysanthemums, including some of the newest varieties of both double and single blooms. A specimen bloom of Mrs. K. M. Berry is worthy of special mention. The exhibit also includes a large collection of paeony—flowering dahlias, some very lino blooms being shown on stems two to three feet in length, as well as choice blooms on the show stands. Mr. E. Beale, of New .Plymouth, also has a very fine exhibit of chrysanthemums grown without any disbudding, dahlias (cactus and pom-pom), and several new varieties of flowers. There are several decorated tables, and these will be judged by popular vole.

The arrangements for the show have been admirably carried out by the secretary, Miss tiimsbii, and the’ energetic committee of the society, and all concerned are to be, heartily congratulated upon the fine display that has been brought together. _ The show will be continued this evening, and it is to be hoped the townspeople will attend in
