.MU. -BLASCHECK’S ENTRKTAIXAIENT. The musieal and humorous entertainment given at the Theatre (loyal on Wednesday evening by .Mr. Blasebeek ami .Miss Austin was most enjoyable. -Mr. Blasebeek is a master of kindly humour and has a wonderful power of laeial expression. He is perhaps best as an old man, preferably a gentleman of the old school, a class whom he portrayed to the life in “Past and Present” and “A Country J.P.” 'Hi.-, representation of the country yokel who was not such a fool as ho looked—and lie certainly did look a fool—was also a great success, In more serious vein. .Mr. Biascheck gave very fine renderings of “The Day,” Henley’s poem "Invietus.” and Mark Antony’s oration, one of the finest pieces of mob oratory ever produced. Aided by Miss Austin, Air. Blaschrck concluded his programme with a grand opera inspired by “Spring Cleaning.” which introduced many wellknown airs and was a very bright little production. .Miss Austin is a skilful pianist of the vigorous type and, besides accompanying -Mr. Blaseheck in a number of musical monologues, sang many popular songs which were very well received.
