GERMAN FORCES. IN THE CARPATHIANS. PETROGRAD, April 23. The Germans hare half a million men in the Carpathians, of which half are striving to force a passage against the eastorr. Russian wing in the direction of Sivy- The remainder arc. distributed amongst the Austrians in order to infuse energy into tho fighting. Only tho Hungarians are putting heart into tho work, realising they are fighting for their hearths and homes.
