TAKE PART IN DARDANELLES FIGHTING.

SPLENDID DALLANTHY SHOWN. GERMAN OFFENSIVE STOPPED. The members- of our expeditionary force, who have been longing for active service, have at last attained their desire. They are at present engaged in the land operations near the Dardanelles, where a landing has been effected at four points, three on the European side and one on the Asiatic side. The majority of tho troops apparently landed at Sedil Bahr, at the extreme point of the Gallipoli peninsula. There was no doubt hard lighting in the process of turning the Turks out of their entrenchments,'but cablegrams from Constantinople should not cause a moment’s anxiety. 'When Turks and Germans combine to' lie the result is as remote from the truth as it is possible to get. In Belgium the German advance has been checked and their losses are reported to have been enormous. The use of poisonous gases by the Germans has been met satistaeiorily and will probably cause no serious danger in future. lire Allies 'have taken the offensive, though as yet they do not seem to have recovered the ground lost.
