HOUSEHOLDERS' MEETINGS.
STRATFORD SCHOOL. April 26.—About thirty householders attended the annual school meeting, the Town Hall meeting to hear Mr. R.. M*K. Morison on his claim to the mayoral chair proving a powerful counter-attraction. Mr. 11. Masters presided. The committee’s report and balance-sheet showed a very satisfactory state of things in every way. Jr, touched upon such accomplished facts as the greatly enlarged playing grounds, the drum and life band, the miniature rille range, the improvement of the Infant School building. The successes of pupils in' outside competitions had been equal lo those of former years. Finances wore nourishing and the school was still growing in numbers and importance. A discussion took place on the proposed separation of the High School and various doubts set at rest, the outcome being an unanimous resolution urging the Minister of Education to establish a High School for. Stratford. A resolution, similar to last, year’s, was passed asking for an enlargement of the Taranaki education district to include the whole province. There were thirteen candidates for the new committer, the following being elected:—Messrs. P. Skoglund. F. Cramer, W. M'Donakl, J. W. McMillan, H. Sanderson, E. W, Hancock, T. C. Fookes. F. J. M‘'Donald and S. j Ward. The first six mentioned were 1 members of the retiring committee. At j a meeting of the new committee Mr.. Six nominations were received for the committee, the following being elected Messrs. F. E. Morris, •T. Ram.shoUnm. J. Sanger. C. I. Shrimpton (chairman), and H. C. Cleinow. TATARAIMAKA. At. a well-attended meeting the follow, ing committee was elected; —Mrs. Dougherty. Messrs. 11. Smith (chairman), H. Lnekin, T. Morris, and 11. Bottchcr (secretary). NGAERE. ‘The following were elected us a committee:—Mrs. Truelove. Messrs. H. Taylor (chairman). 11. Jones. A. I>. Walker, and A. E. Wickham (secretary^.
INGLEWOOD. The following committee was elected at Inglewood: —Rev. Messrs. Kempthorno and Ravn, Messrs. Thomson (chairman). J. Sutherland (secretary). Messenger. Scabright. Kennedy, Dean, and Rolston.
