Knowles, in place of the old Opunake Hotel, which, was destroyed lire some time ago. The building is to be in concrete and will be an acquisition to the business part of Opunake. The members of the Golf Club are getting in plenty of practice, taking advantage of the fine weather we have had lately. Tim advent of golf has had the effect of early rising for some of the members, Mrs. E. Thorpe was operated on last week in the New Plymouth Hospital, and is progressing as well as can be expected. Mrs. K. Canncll also underwent an operation and is progressing favourable.
