Mutton.—The market is very firm, partly owing to Government buying Australian mutton. Canterbury 6Jd, and as high as Old for best quality light weight. There is n limited supply of North Islam Eat 6 l-16d, and as high as GJd for light weight. Ordinary quality fid, ewes ojd.

Lamb.—-The fuarket is dull and imseltled. Canterbury 8d: for all weights other than Canterbury 7Jd.

Beef.—The market is eery firm. Snpplks of .American chilled, nro small. Prices for frozen beef have I>eon affected by la rue purchases for the Government of Australian and Now Zealand beef at market rates. New Zealand hinds bid, fores 6Jd; chilled, binds 7Jd, fores 6ld.

Butter.—Tho market is quiet and steady. There is a fair demand for best quality, hut poorer demand for lower grades. Danish, steady. 142 sto Ills. New Zealand, market quiet, 132 s to 134?; un.saltetl 138 s to HOs. Australian, 128 sto 13Us. Siberian, fair demand, 12Ss to 130 s. Argentine, 126 s to 130 s.

Cheese. —There is no alteration in the market .-inco last. week. Largo quantities of United Slates cheeso continue to arrive. The Government -buying keeps tho market steady. Brices will be ■maintained. For Now Zealand there is a dull demand in usual tradq o.i account of the high price. Canadian stock small; white 96s to 98s, coloured 94s to 965. New. Zealand, steady; white 93s to 945, coloured 935. United States in good demand; fiats and douldes, coloured Sos to SSs, white SSs to. 90s. Australian, white or cokuwed SSs to 90s. English Cheddar supplies are nearly exhausted, at 104 s to 106 s.

Hemp.—Tho market is very quiet. Nothing is doing and prices have declined. New Zealand, good fair grade £32 10s. fair ,£3O 10s; Manila £3B.- Forward shipment, good fair £3l 10s, fair £29 10s; Manila £36'lDs. The output from Alanila for the week was 2-3,000 bales. ' ’

Hops.—The market is very dull, and prices have slightly declined for _ all grades. English 75s to 105 s, Californian 70s to 955.

Wheat.—Tho market is firm, with improved demand. Canadian and American 61s 6d per quarter, Argentine 5Ss.
