OBITUARY.

REV. FATHER KEHOE. Tho death occurred early on Friday morning, at SI. Joseph’s Presbytery, New Plymouth, of uio Roy. Father Kehoe, aged 7i years. Father Kehoe was a native of tno city ol Dublin, and jcceived his education partly iu that t-ity, completing it in the Irish College at Rome, whore ho for a time occupied tho position of vice-president. After hi* ordination to tho priesthood he worked for some time in his native city, and later came out to Adelaide, whore he remained for eighteen mouths. Finding the climate too trying for him, lie volunteered to come oyer to Now Zealand, and lie worked iu the Auckland diocese for close on thirty years. Some throe years ago declining health forced him to resign his charge, and for a time lie stayed hi Auckland, and later lived with his friend Father Costello (.now deceased; at Palmerston North. After the death of bather Costello, at the request of Dean M'Kenna and Father Mac-nanus, of Palmerston, tho late Father Kehoe camo to assist in tins parish, so fur us his strength would allow, and he had been here eighteen months. During this time, though in a, feeble slate of health, ho was unremitting and full of zeal iu the discharge of his priestiy duties. About a month ago, however, he had to relinquish duly, and has boon since more or less couliued to his room and to his bed. it was indy eddying to witness the manner iu which he boro up during his last illness. His patience, ins resignation, his trust in -God, and his constant prayer* wore features that those who witnessed them can never forget. He oassed away quietly, as already stacoti, early on Friday morning, fortified I)3’ all tne rices of tho Holy Church, in his day he was an able preacher and a very - accomplished musician. The funeral will take place at the i'e Henui Cemetery on .Sunday afternoon.
