At the annual meeting of the district committee of the Oddfellows’ Otago Disliiet, held at Outrani to-day. some discussion took place regarding th« altitude of the medical men to the friendly societies. 'flu- discussion arose ill rough the folio wine, motion, which was brought forward : That this meeting of Ihe Otago District of the M.P.. 1.0.0. E.. regrets that the Medical Association. according to the newspaper report of the Medical Conference hold at Auckland, is attempting to interfere with contracts existing helween individual medical offiem's and the various lodges. Some speakers slated that if there were matters requiring adjustment or reconsideration they were always prepared to discuss them, as between the lodges and the mediea! officers, but they would not permit of any tiling that would tend to create class distinctions, or to work inequitably amongst members, and thus strike ;;l the very mot of the constitution. The motion was carried.
