If adequate arrangements aie made for their instruction there is a prospect that the number of senior pupils wiil in the future increase eaech year. In order that provision may be rnado for (lie carrying out of a full programme of advanced rural work, it will be necessary to appoint an extra teacher. Mr. 11. Masters stated in his report on the question of a site for the Maltakau School that ha had visited Kiore and inspected several suggested sites. In Iris opinion there was not really a suitable ono in the locality, which was mostly hilly and swampy, Tho section ho would recommend was ono on tho corner of the Mono and Mahakau Roads. It was suitably situated, but limittd to two acres. The existing school site was’ totally unfit for the purpose for winch it was used, and he had received an offer to rent it, which ho recommended should bo accepted. After a short discussion it was decided to adopt the* report, with tho exception of the part relating to tho lease of tho old school site, and to apply to tho department for a grant for tho purchase of tho now site.
