This is midway between tho reserved and tho commission ionic. There will he a branch to Manaia. which will bo made as soon as tho line reaches Kapuui. Thu lii-s-t sod will bo turned at Ujmirake. although the commencement will bo made about 'J'v Hot.. Mr. "Wilkinson, member for the district, lias cordially invited members or the Ministn to Opunakn to turn the first sod. The dale will be arranged on Mr. Massey’s return from the South next week. . . The Chief Engineer estimates it will lake about two months to conijilele the nia.'is, when Die work will he nut in band. It is the intention of Ihe Government to push tho completion of tho lino.
