T'urious cannonading is proceeding. Tho whole of the surrounding country is protected by wire entanglements. General Villa reports tho capture of three hundred prisoners. Id is reported that the Fed era Is are being driven hack upon Torrro/i. WASHINGTON, March 23. Mr. Percival further reports that Benton disregarded tho advice of his wife and friends and visited General Villa unarmed. A scuffle occurred in Villa’s oflice. Perfect quiet followed, and a body was later removed. 'Tho Consul infers that Benton was stubbed, hut dues not sr.i'o who stabiied him, hut it is thought likely that it was ono of Villa's ofliccrs.
