Archdeacon Evans went North by the Rarawa on Friday night. Mr. E. Olsen, of Wanganui, and formerly of Inglewood, has been appointed clerk to the Inglewood Borough Council. There were 24 applicants. Henry, late of Hawsesbury College, New South Wales, arrived in New Plymouth on Thursday evening to take up his new duties as Agricultural Instructor to the Technical College. , The King has approved the appointment of the Right Hon. Ronald Craufurd Munro-Fergusou, P. 0., M.P/. for Leith, as Governor-General of Australia. Mr. Munro-Fergusou, who is 53 years of age, was educated for the army, and held a commission in' the Grenadier Guards. He has been a member of Parliament for the Leith Burghs since 1886. In 1839 he married Lady Helen Blackwood, daughter of the Marquis of Dufferin ‘ and sister of Lady ITunket. He owns about 26,000 acres of land. ’
