Caillaux induced, the Minister for Marine to cancel the credit for the construction of the battleship which the Chamber authorised to be built immediately, the War Minister reducing the Budget by £BOO,OOO. The Temps deplores these economies, ■ pointing out that the crisis in 1905 was followed by similar economies, which necessitated subsequent heavy expenditure.
