Count Maurice Lilicntluvl and a* young lady, both experienced mountaineers, essayed a dangerous ascent of tho Rax mountain. When nearing tho top, Lilienthai was seized with cramp in tho arras. Ho begged tho girl to massage him, despite the fact that he wan clinging to an almost perpendicular rock. She did so unsuccessfully and Lilienthai suddenly fell 900 foot and was shockingly mutilated. His terrified companion with great difficulty , completed tho ascent and procured as- 1 sistance.
