Dr. Walsh, of the Theistic Church, advocates the elimination of the word hell from the Bible. The American revisers have already expunged it from the Old Testament, and tlio British revisers explained that it did not mean a place of torment. Of twenty-three cases in the Now Testament ten represented a mistranslation of “Hades.” If future revisers refused to translate “Gehenna” by “hell/ 5 , the hideous word would bo swept out of tiro Bible.
