LAND FOR SETTLEMENT.
A KAIKODRA ESTATE. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, Sept. 16. The Government has purchased the Lyton Downs Estate, near Kaikoura, on the line of tho Southern Main Trunk railway. It contains 7000 acres freehold and 9000 Crown leasehold, which will be also resumed. Valuers state that a largo portion is fit for agriculture.
