Day, S.M., tho Commis--sionor appointed by his Excellency the Governor to hold an inquiry into certain allegations regarding tho treatment of patients nt-tho Simnysido Mental Hospital, has fixed September 25 as tho date for opening tho inquiry, at tho Provincial Council Chambers, Christchurch, at 11 a.m. In tho public notice it is requested that all persons desiring to be hoard must ho present at the tiino and place stated. Tho inquiry is into the treatment in Sunnyside Mental Hospital of the lato William Alexander Tribe, tho late James Howie, the lato Sidney Lionel Barrett, Lewis Allan Gourlay, and Daniel Hcrliby.
