EXPRESS DERAILED.

PERMANENT WAY PLOUGHED-UP. BT ELECTRIC- TELEGRAPH.—COPYRIGHT. (Received Sept. 15, 10.10 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 14. Five coaches of tho Flying Scotchman were derailed in the darkness-at Cheyington, Northumberland. The train was travelling at the 1 rate of 55 miles an hour. The passengers were severely shaken. There were some remarkable escapes. The wheels' wore buried in ballast and thus prevented from overturning. The permanent way was torn up for two hundred yards. The cause of the-accident is a mystery. It was probably due to a subsidence owing to mining operations.
