Sir George Clifford’s mare Madam Madcap, by Clanranald—Madowla, foaled a filly to Treadmill at the Stonyhnrst stud last week. Mr. J. R. L. Stanford, the owner of tho crack fencer Bercola, has purchased Loopline and Sir Single from I. Lupton, the well-known Wavcrley sportsman, and both, will go into J. Fryer’s stable at Hawera. When offered at auction Inst week the stallion Master Theory, by Soult —Romola, was passed in. However, on Monday. .Denis Moraghan disposed of him to Mr. Plaisted, and the horse's new home will be at AVhangarci. It is understood that R. E. Brown, C. Browne, and J. O’Shea have received n notification to attend the next meeting of the Auckland Metropolitan Committee in connection with their applications for licenses.

After the A.J.C. spring meeting Julian will be brought back to New Mr. Honnah’s recent purchase, Forest Prince, will accompany him. but the Prince will bo given a spell before racing again. Jervis George will tako four horses from New Plymouth to compete at the Avondale fixture, and the quartette will consist of Crown Pearl, Royal Anns, Omata and AVahine. Omata is a five-year-old bay gelding by Royal Artillery from Locnoro. AVahine, which is the only southern-trained two-year-old likely to compete at Avondale, is a filly by King Rufus (imp.) from St. Ada, and is a promicing half-sister \v Crown Pearl.

The Egmor.t Racing Club has received very satisfactory nominations for the two classic events to be decided at its 1015 summer mooting. For tho Egmont Stakes,' 6 furlongs, 150 entries have boon received, and the number for tho Hnwora Stakes, one mile, is 94. AH the most prominent owners and breeders ■in the Dominion are represented. As a result of her very easy win in the Maiden Plate at Martou, Bonnie Helen has been sorted out as ono likely to give tho best of tho other Wanganui Guineas candidates a great go. The daughter of Boniform—Helen Portland, who is owned by Mr. Alexander, of Now Plymouth, is a splendid looking filly, and that she is well endowed with pace she proved in her race on Wednesday, when sh© won with the greatest ease. Her owner also has Sunbird engaged in the Guineas, and the daughter of Martian—Mary of Argyle is also very fast, but sh© is not so forward as Bonnie Helen, and tho latter is likely to be the better stayer. More than ono good judge declared that Bomform’s daughter was tho finest throe-year-old seen out for some years. England possesses a smasher in tho two-year-old peculiarly-marked grey Tho Totrach.
