General Botha, at the Standerton meeting, said that while they wore building up South Africa they should not adopt an attitude of hostility to Britain. Ho denied that ho intended to got tho union’s naval policy from England. He only proposed to consult Britain regarding her interests at Simonstown, in order to maintain tho ,present amicable position.
