TERRIER RESCUES KITTENS

Four little motherless kittens owe their lives to “Bianca,” a fox terrier. When the .flat at Grove, Street, San lYanoisco, caught fire, and , the rooms and halls were filled with smoke, Blan-ca,-who had adopted the kittens, kept her head and through the turmoil that followed' carried her foster children to Through stairways filled with firemen and excited tenants Blanca made tour trips to the top floor, and each time returned with a kitten in her mouth. Each trip Blanca would taka a kitten to the far end of the back yard-, out of danger, and after placing it gentlv bn the ground would dart back again for another one. When all four had been carried out of harm s way the terrier devoted her time to comforting her wards by licking their fur and running around them. No one was allowed-to approach. _ 'When Blanca’s puppy died she disappeared one afternoon ' and returned with a kitten in her mouth. She did not stop until four had been brought home, and since that time. she has cared for tho little creatures with a devotion that only a dog can show.
