Tho School of Physical Culture has heon a place of great interest since the local heavyweight champion, Ern. Hine, accepted Ryugoro Shiraa’s challenge in a • catch-as-catch-can match, which is to be held on Monday evening next at the Theatre Royal, New Plymouth. Our local champion ia in excellent form, and never before in the history of Taranaki has the public had such an opportunity of witnessing a more exciting wrestling bout, than this is to be. ifino, the local man, has a great many supporters, and the public of Taranaki are well acquainted with his fine record, while Ryugoro Shima’s record has been unequalled in the Southern Hemisphere as a jiu-jitsu exEert, and in catch-as-catch-can style h© as many a victory to his credit. Besides the above big bout there are Messrs. Crowther, White and Thompson, of our local enthusiasts, who are training with tho champion and are in very good condition to meet their respective opponents. The programme provided should appeal to all lovers of clean sport, and it is hoped that a record house will greet tho contestants when they take tho mat.
