Buckland and Sons report: At Westfield on Thursday, July 10, there was a fair yarding of dairy and store stock. Dairy cows brought £5 to £lO 12s fid, empty cows £2 15s to £4 Bs, 2jd to 3-year steers £6. At Westfield on Wednesday, the beef entry numbered 255. The quality was inferior to that at late sales but competition was more spirited and values advanced 15s per head. Choice ox brought to £1 12s, prime £1 7s to £1 9s, cows and heifers £1 to £1 8s per 1001 b., steers £7 15s to £l4 17s fid, cows and heifers £4 to £9 ss. Calves: A fair supply o ffat young calves sold freely, ruling at extreme figures. Runners brought £4 15s to £6 18s, heavy suckers £3 15s to £4 12s, medium £2 5s to £3 18s, light £1 os to £2 2s, small to fresh dropped 3s to £1 Is; 58 were sold. Sheep: Scarcely average numbers were yarded, but there was improved demand and an advance in prices. Prime sheep were worth more by 3s to 4s a head. Extra heavy ?rimo wethers brought £1 9s to £1 os, heavy prime £l 5s to £1 8s fid, medium to heavy £1 Is to £1 4s fid, light and unfinihed 15s to 19s fid. Best weighty ewee brought £1 4s to £1 6s Bd, good 18s fid to £1 3s, others 14s to 17s fid, hoggets 12s to 17s; 1663 ' were sold, the highest number for many years. Pigs: Choppers brought £5 5s to £7, heavy £4 8s to £5, lighter £3 13s to £4 2s, large porkers £3 3s to £3 16s, smaller £3 8s to £2,185, light £1 11s to £2 ss. A few stores were offered. WEBSTER BROS.’ REPORT. Poultry.—At the mart on Saturday our pens were taxed to their utmost with birds of all classes. Good prices ■. were obtained, and we would advise ; anyone having poultry for sale to market them now. Hens, young Is 8d to 2s 6d, fat 2s 3d to 4s 3d; cockerels, 1 young Is to Is lid, fat 2s to 2s 8d; pulletsTforward 3s lid to 5s 9d, laying 3s 9d to 5s fid; ducks, 2s 3d to 2s 7d; . drakes, 2s fid to 3s. Fruit.—During the week we bav-e handled large quantities of Island oranges and bananas.
