The whole of the money raised by the Carnival Committee for work at the Central and Courtenay Street schools has been spent in much-needed improvements, and it is proposed, to attemptto put the finances or the schools on a good basis by another carnival in November. At the Land Board Office this morning a number of education reserves were offered for sale by public auction. Section 567, Wallace Place, New Plymouth, was disposed of at the upset of £6 to Mr. A. J. Rossitor; and sections 569 and 570, Wallace Place, were sold to Mr. H. Calvert, also at the upset of £6 each. Section 3, block 3, Mahoe Survey District, comprising 732 acres, was secured by Mr. Albert ;H. Perry, at the upset of £27 10s.
