PANAMA EXPOSITION.

MASTERTON MAN’S APPOINTMENT. Sir. R. O. Jarrett, of Masterton, has received tho following letter from Mr. D. O. Lively, Chief pf tyo Department of Live Stock, in connection with the Pmama-Pacifio International exposition : With the authority of President, Charles C. Moore, Direotor-in-Chief, Dr. P. J. V. Skiff, and Director of Exhibits, Captain A. C. Baker, I take great pleasure in appointing you a member of tho Advisory Committee of the Live Stock Department of the Panama-Pacific International Exposition, charged with the duty of encouraging a display of poultry from Now Zealand that is in keeping with the importance of the industry. Please use every avenue of publicity to that end.

Your patriotic devotion to tllh poul: try fancy and your success in promoting an international as well as lcr«l interest in poultry will inspire confidence among the exhibiting memuers of your association who might coine to San Francisco in 1915. " This department is indebted to tho American Poultry Association for information as to your interest in' poultry culture. The assurance is made, that any exhibit which may come from your country will be gladly received, and will bo given special attention. :• It is purposed to hold in San Francisco in 1915 the greatest poultry show that the world has ever seen, and your cooperation to that end is earnestly solicited. This appointment will continue in effect nntil the close of the Exposition. Your acceptance thereof as a direct and personal representative of the poultry. industry of New Zoalahd will insure the success of the poultry section and will be a source of congratulation te the Panama-Pacific International Exposition, to the members of your association, and to this department. ■
