CASES OF DIPHTHERIA.

OUTBREAK AT TIMARU. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. TIMARU, July 15. Diptheria is somewhat prevalent of late in Timaru and Waimate. Tho HoaBital Board to-day decided to ask the epartmont’s permission to use tho Talbot fever hospital for such cases, which are now in a separate ward of the general hospital, but have :no separate nurses. , • The board received a circular from the Department regarding precautions against smallpox, and decided to obtain a supply of lymph, to bo available to the medical men at tho hospital. The Department approved oI; the board accepting as a donation, Carrying a subsidy, a sum collected by’tho St. John’s Society for the purchase of a motor ambulance.
