CANDIDATES’ ADDRESSES. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. GREYMOUTH, July 15. Mr. H. L. Michel addressed a packed meeting in the Opera House to-night, and received a most flattering reception. His address for the most part, was confined to a reply to the statements made by Mr. Hanan, the Liberal candidate, and to the attitude adopted by the local press towards him. 0/ also dealt at length with the Westpor( Harbour Board inquiry, and denied, on behalf of Lady Guinness and the Horn 1 A. L. Herdman, that the latter haq promised to retain the services of ns Parliamentary messengers appointed by Sir A. R. Guinness and lately dismissed. in the hall, Mr. J. Payne, M.P. for Grey Lynn, and Professor Mills addressed a large audience on behalf of Mr. P. 0. Webb, Social Democrat candidate. They received an excellent hearing. Mr. Hanan will speak to-morrow night in the Town Hall.
