The suffragettes attempted to blow up the Newcastle Labour Exchange by means of a fuse in a can of gunpowder. DASH ON DOWNING STREET. (Received June 30, 11.40 a.m.) LONDON, June 29. At a free speech demonstration, Sylvia Pankhurst headed an attempt of 2000, mostly dockers, to rush Downing Street. The movement was repelled, and a general melee followed, leading to five arrests.
