DAIRY PRODUCE.

AT THE HAWERA SHOW. Tho biittor and cheese exhibits were judged by members of the Government dairy staff, who stated that the quality of tho cheese was well up to the high standard seen at previous shows in Hawera. Tho cheese was of exceptionally clean appearance, reflecting credit on tho managers and those in charge of tho storage. Chocso that had been .stored for two months was quite as good in appearance as tho articjo which came direct from the factory. Tho quality and uniformity of the butter was good, and in two classes tho first prize makes stood out on their own. PRIZE LIST. DAIRY FACTORY CHEESE. CLASS I.—For best case white cheese (open to all factories, in New Zealand). No cheese to bo less than 60 lbs. weight. First prize £5 6s (presented by Messrs. Lovell and Christmas, of London); second, £3 3s; third, £2 2s.

CLASS 11.—For best case coloured cheese. (Open to all factories in Now Zealand.) No cheese to bo less than GO lbs. in weight. First prize, £5 5s (pi'csonlcd by Messrs. Lovell , and, Christmas, of London); second, £3 3s; third. £2 2s.

CLASS 111.—Taranaki Championship (open to_all Taranaki Dairy Factories only). In this class the cheeso must bo sent direct from the factory to the show.' For best case white or coloured cheese. No cheese to be less than 60 lb. in weight. First prize, £5 6s; second, £3 3s; third, £2 2s. A challenge enp, value £lO 10s (presented by the Hawcra Licensed Victuallers’ Association), to bo won outright, will become the property of the maker scoring tho highest points in this class.

CLASS Vll.—Best case cheese, medium (for export). To bo sent direct from factory to show. First prize, £5 6s and valuable trophy presented by N.Z. Dairy Factory Managers’ Association ; second, £2 2s.

DAIRY FACTORY BUTTER.

CLASS I.—Best box factory butter, 56 lbs. weight (open to all factories in New Zealand). First prize, £7 7s: second, £3 3s; third, £2 2s. A challenge cup, valued at ten guineas (presented by the Dominion Dairy Show) will be awarded to the maker scoring the highest points in this class, and to become the property of the maker winning the cup twice in succession, or three times at intervals.

CLASS II. —Taranaki Championship. Best box of butter, 56 lbs. weight. (Open to Taranaki factories omy.) First prize, £5 os; second, £3 3s; third, £2 2s. A challenge cup, valued at 10 guineas (presented, by Messrs. Gillies and Nalder), to bo won outright, will be awarded to the maker securing the highest points in this class, and to ( become the property of the maker.

CLASS 111. —Best box factory butter. -56 lbs. weight. (Open to all factories in Now Zealand). A challenge cup' valued at £5 5s will bo awarded 'to the maker'scoring the'highest points i»i this class, and to become the property of the maker winning the cup twice in succession or three times at intervals.

CLASS IV.—Best box export butter. (Open to members of the New Zealand Dairy Factory Managers’ Association.) First prize, £5 5s and valuable trophy presented by N.Z. Dairy Factory Managers’ Association ; second, £2 2s.
