The Standard of Empire interviewed tho , High Commissioners upon Alderman Hanson refusing to bind over a prisoner at tho Guildhall in order that he might bo sent to the colonies, on tho ground that tho man was not of the sort wanted in Canada or Australia. - Sir George Reid said that Alderman Hanson had rendered a service to the Empire. Each division of tho Empire ought to’ deal with its own undesirables. Hon. T. Mackenzie said that if he heard that a proved bad character was being sent to New Zealand ho would cable tho Government to prevent his landing.
