THE NEW HEBRIDES.
AUSTRALIAN OPINION. By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received Juno 27, 9.51 a.m.) SYDNEY, June 27. Tho Herald says that tho reported negotiations between Sir E. Grey and M. Poincare regarding tho New Hebhides are a matter of the first importance. The Herald hopes the Imperial Government at last has decided to ond tho condominium, which- has proved an unqualified failure. Tho Herald concludes: “The only satisfactory solution would be the cession of the islands to the British Empire. No other method will bo regarded in Australia as removing tho present evils. Cession to Franco would certainly not do. Quito apart from other considerations are frankly apprehensive lest islands so near our shores may be populated by people who may bo a source of danger in the neaJ- future.”
