ANNUAL MEETING OF LEAGUE. THE NEED FOR TRAINED MEN. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. LONDON, June 26. Lord Roberts presided at the annual meeting of the National Service League of 163,746 members. Bishop Frodsham detailed tho Australian military system, and said that the prosecutions under the Act were rather fewer than those under the Public Instruction Act. Tho majority of religious bodies in Australia favoured the Act. Lord Roberts said that tho linos of communication between Capetown and tho front had been broken on several occasions because the men were improperly trained. It was most inhuman to send untrained men to bo slaughtered.
