The Commonwealth’s two B.E. biplanes are tho newest type of army machine, and will'bo tested at Farnborough and shipped in three weeks. Two air mechanics are sailing on July 4 and 18 respectively. Mr. Buckley states that, according to tho latest expert opinions, owing to the drier and lighter atmosphere, experiments may show the need for greater lifting power, inasmuch as, while the machine is perfectly serviceable in England, it may not necessarily respond to the conditions in Australia. He anticipates utilisation of the best type, with more powerful'engines and possibly greater wing area.
