Lodiea bodies’ representatives interviewed Dr. Valintino on the question of regulating hospital levies and suggested greater co-ordination among ’ocal bodies in tho finance of Hospital Boards. Dr. Valintino, in reply, said that local bodies did not sufficiently realise that tho scope of their work had extended largely. Ho gave instances of many changes. He did not think there was much chance of reducing the expenditure. Ho believed it would increase. Ho was in sympathy with the suggestions made and would lay them before tho Minister. Large calls should not bo made suddenly.
