Mr. Bryan informed the Russian Ambassador that he would be glad to make a new treaty, despite the trouble regarding the admission of American Jews to Russia. M. Bakhmeitiff has communicated to Russia Mr. Bryan’s desires. It is understood that Mr. Bryan is anxious to test Russian opinion whether concessions to American Jews are likely to be offered.
