RESULT OF A DRINKING BOUT. Per Press Association. WANGANUI, May 3. In connection with the drinking tragedy at Mauunui, near Taumarunui, as a result of which the two men Gantley and Gillies died, it transpires that gallons of whisky had been procured from Waikato, which a number of mon commenced drinking. Both deceased wore assisted to bed as well as two or throe others who were suffering from tho effects of drink. A post-mortem examination and inquest have been ordered, and some of the whisky secured by the police is to bo analysed.
