(Froiri Our Own Correspondent.) April 30.—The rainfall for April was 2.30 inches as against 9.34 inches for the same month last, year; rain fell on IT days, but only oh 4 was it over 10 points. The weather lias been everything th,at could be desired lor this time of year, and there i.s tt chance of getting a littlo more njatal on the'road yet. The School Committee held a euchre party and dance in aid of the piano fund on Friday last. In spite of a very .dark night a good number sat down to euchre, and after an'exciting time the first ladies’ prize, a pair of vases, was won by Mrs. Rocket, and second, a salt cellar, by Mrs. Darke, while Mr. Rang! iron tho men’s first prise, military brushes, and r Mr. J. Whittaker, second, a pocket knife. After a good supper, provided by the ladies, dancing was kept up till a late hour. The committee wish to thank all those who kindly supplied the music. A good number of householders, both ladies and men, were, present at the meeting field on Monday night to elect the school committee tor the ensuing year. Mr. M’Donald was voted to the chair and road over the' accounts for tho past “year, showing a substantial credit balance, which .later on was'dt voted to paying off the debt on the piano. After tho ballot the following were elected: Messrs. Darke, Rogers; Hutchins, Hammond, and M'Uonald. At tho subsequent meeting Mr. Darko was elected chairman. ’■*:
