MOTOR SHOOTING CASE.
\ ACCUSED BEFORE THE COURT. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, May 2. At the Police 1 -Court, Robin Jasper Crago, aged 18 years, was charged with having wilfully" attempted to murder Percy Robert Skeates and Bertio Hanna at Takapuna on March 13. Crago negotiated with Skeates for tho purchase of a motor-car and went with Skeates and Hanna on a trial run to Takapuna, where it was alleged that Crago left the car, ostensibly to pick up a letter Iroiir tho mail. On returning he peppered Skeates and Hanna with a revolver.
Evidence was given that Crago stated to the police he won £3OO in Tattersails sweep,, £IOO by batting on the races, and borrowed £25 from a friend. This he paid Skeates for the oar on the way to Takapuna. Skeates denied having received any' money’ from Crago, the arrangement being that tho latter was to pay on delivery at Taka pirn a. Evidence was given that Crago purchased the revolver with which tho shooting is alleged to have been from an Auckland shop the same day as tho affair occurred. The case is proceeding.
