A FARMER’S DEATH. Per Press Association. ASHBURTON, May 1. - Berber! John Grainger, aged 39, a farmer residing at The Hinds, left home In a trap on Wednesday., To-day his lifeless body was discovered on the main road in a shallow pool of water face upwards. There were some scratches on his knees and one arm was passed through the reins of the horse, _ which, with the harness on, was standing by. SUICIDE OF A TAILOR. V WELLINGTON, May 2. , Hugh Dyett, a tailor, aged about 38 years, committed suicide by shooting himself with a revolver. ‘He had evident ly attempted to kill himself bv cutting Ids throat, as there was a gash under his chin and a razor was found on his bed. . No cause is assignable for the deed.
