LISBON, April 30. • Many boats full of armed civilians surrounded tho cruiser Republica and attempted to release the political prisoners but efforts to board the vessel were repulsed. Other armed bands in tho roads and streets exchanged shots with the Republican Guards. A number of arrests wore effected.
