The Rev. U. C. Bates’ forecast for the twenty-four hours from 9 a.m. today is as follows: The indications are for variable and strong breezes, but freshening southerly prevailing; the weather will probably prove squally with heavy showers and probably become colder; barometer rising soon, and expect high barometric pressure; tides poor,' sea moderate, but tides and sea increasing on the coast after about 36 hours..
