GOLF.
NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. The first ladies’ match on the new links at Waiwakaiho was played on Tuesday, when the Edmunds Medal and Club Buttons were competed for. As this was the first match of the season on the new course the scores were not up to the standard. Appended are the best six cards handed in:—
On Tuesday next a ladies’ foursome will be played, and thereafter the competitions will be continued weekly on Tuesdays. Members are reminded that entries for the men's foursomes close with the Match Committee to-morrow (Thursday) at 4 p.m. Partners and opponents will be drawn for. The bus will run out to the links on Thursdays and Saturdays, leaving Avery’s at 1 p.m. and returning from the golf course at 5 p.m. TARAHUA CLUB. A men’s modal round match will be played on the Carrington Road links on Saturday afternoon. Entries close with the Match Committee to-morrow (Thursday).
