INGLEWOOD.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) April 15.—The Moa Dairy Company’s monthly meeting was held yesterday. 'There was oniv a very little business to transact. The only iteip of interest to record was the accounts passed for payment, totalling £4393 lie 4d (general) of which £3870 18s Id was for milk supplied. The store accounts for the mouth were £l6l 3s 3d. The amount of general accounts for the corresponding month last year was £4153 10s. The pulpit of the Presbyterian Church is being supplied at present by Mr. Bishop, of New Plymouth, who will act as home missionary until some time in the future when tlie local church is going to reorganise. For some years past Inglewood has been a home mission station, and has had no voice in the appointment of its minister. The congregation now feel that they are able to take upon themselves greater responsibilities. The youth and beauty of Inglewood are about to bo parted , for a week, in common with the rest of Taranaki, the youth to go to ('amp, the beauty to remain at home. There is a good deal of discontent about the camp amongst those who are not nuite old enough to go this year, and who want to. The Cadet’s Football Club is starting practice on Thursday next. They have a fairly good team this year. Sergt. D. Laing is captain, and Corporal Henry secretary. A match with Waifcara to be played there, is I understand, tho first fixture, in view. The C'lamber of Commerce held its meeting last night. Mr. G. W. Bennett (president) was in the chair. Here, as at, the dairy meeting, there was only a very little business done. The president reported that the Borough Council had contributed its ouota towards the Taranaki Court at the Auckland Exhibition. Air. C. O. Roberts moved, and Mr. APLean seconded, that Messrs. Spurdle and Eolmrts approach the secretary of the Inglewood Tradesmen’s Association to see whether some steps could be taken to combat tho movement for the adoption of the Saturday Half Holiday.—Carried. The meeting then adjourned. .
