ENTERTAINMENTS.
THEATRE ROYAL PICTURES. A varied and exceedingly interesting selection of pictures was shown to a good attendance at the Royal last evening. Pride of place is given a long star picture “Light after Darkness,’’ a powerful drama depicting in realistic scenes tho great issues involved in commercial integrity and financial success. Two fine actors are cast for the parts of the company • promoters, and the scenes in their office are among the best throughout tho picture. The popular Vitagraph Company are represented with several excellent pictures, including a comedy “She Cried,” in which Miss Florence Turner proves the “boss weeper” and breaks down all opposition with her copious flow of tears. The Edison Company' have produced a fine domestic drama in “Young Mrs. Eaton,” and, as usual with this makers’ productions, there is a distinctly good moral in the story. The London Gazette included a series of.recent notable happenings, and a pretty coloured picture was shown of “Beautiful Deauville,” the, most popular holiday resort in France. Owing' to the theatre being engaged to-morrow this programme will be shown to-nigbt for the last occasion. EMPIRE PICTURE PALACE. That exciting picture, “The Emerald Necklace” will be' shown to-night for tho last occasion, with the full supporting programme which includes “The Torch of "War” and “The Wreck of the Veronese.”
