AMOKURA INQUIRY.
DEMAND FOR PUBLIC INVESTIGATION.
Fur Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 22. The Amokura inquiry was resumed on Thursday evening. • Mr. Harp gave evidence, and tho inquiry then adjourned till 9 o’clock to-day. Campbell, late second officer on the Amokura, makes some complaints concerning the inquiry. He says he was brought from 'Auckland to give evidence on the understanding that it was a. public inquiry.,... He yas not, allowed within the building where the proceedings were held until called upon to give evidence, although others were. Finding the inquiry of the department ivas not public, and believing a public inquiry’ must eirphtually be held, Campbell declines to submit his evidence at present.
