FRESH TURKISH INSTRUCTIONS. A NAVAL SORTIE. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. CONSTANTINOPLE, Dec. 23. ’ The Porte has cabled fresh instructions to London. It is believed that it invokes the Powers’ good offices to promote an agreement. There has been severe, fighting in the vicinity of Janina. The Turkish right was driven in. General Djavid Postra was killed. Reinforcements enabled the Turks to drive off tho Greeks, The casualties on both sides were heavy. ATHENS, Dec. 23. The Turkish squadron softied from the Dardanelles with torpedo boats at full speed and fired twenty shells. The inhabitants attempted to welcome, the fleet. The Greek garrison fired, killing three and, wounding twelve civilians. The squadron then re-entered' the Dardanelles. Admiral Coundouriotti’s squadron at Lemnos pursued the Turkish ships without result. The Turks made several sorties from Scutari and burned two, adjoining villages. The Servians repelled them, inflicting heavy loss. VICTUALLING OF ADEIANOPLE. (Received Dec. 24, 11.55 a.m.) ' LONDON, pec. 23. General Novacov-iteh, president of the Peace Conference, said .that when the allies' peace conditions were presented the Turks stated that they required, time to consider. They did not insist on reviotnalling Adrianople. The conference has adjourned till Saturday.
